Suntory Yamazaki Distillery

Today I went with my Business class (Japanese Mergers & Acquisitions) to the Suntory Yamazaki Distillery. Here is the photo album. ^_^ I shared it on FB, then forgot to post a blog update. Oops.

That was the only barrel that I could find that is almost as old as I am. 😀

It was really interesting, but I still don’t like whisky. They had a tasting after the tour, but I just couldn’t drink it. ^^” In some of the rooms where they were performing the miscellaneous processes to make the whisky, the smell was so strong that I could barely breathe. Even in the room where they stored the whisky barrels the smell was overwhelming.

In the Ajisai Room today, 2 Japanese students spontaneouly decided to buy a bunch of snacks, cookies and candy, in order to build a house out of them. For no other reason than they could. I think they’re seniors this year and they just want to do crazy things while they still can. They also had some toy figures that were going to live in the house. When I took the picture they were still trying to figure out how to get the roof to stay on. ^^”

Oh dear…

So everyone should be extremely proud of me.

I just ate shrimp and squid. Before you start freaking out, they were both fried. I can’t say that I actually “liked” them, but they were okay. And I ate more than one bite. I think my brain will have to catch up with the whole thing before I’ll honestly be able to say that I like them. I don’t want to hear any I-told-you-so’s. I don’t regret not eating them before now, so there’s no harm done. I mean, com’n, isn’t it better to have all the tasty things to yourself? Now I might want them too. 😉
